How to play TappyHour
The gist
- 📱 Everyone on their own phone. Host hits Start a game and shares the code.
- ⚡ Wait for green, then tap fast. Slowest thumb drinks.
- 🚫 Tap too early and you drink. Don't be twitchy.
- 🎲 Surprise rounds pop up: 🥔 hot potato (pass before the timer) and 🫵 most likely to (vote someone). Loser drinks.
- 🍻 That's it — tap fast, don't drink. Cheers.

Get everyone in
Tap Start a game to become the host. Share the room code or invite link — everyone else opens it on their own phone and they're in. You need at least 2 to start; the surprise rounds need 3+.
A normal round
The screen says WAIT… then flips green. Tap as fast as you can — your reaction time shows in milliseconds.
- Tap too soon (before green) and you drink.
- Fall asleep and miss it entirely — you drink too.
- Fastest thumb earns the 👑; keep winning to build a 🔥 streak.
Who drinks
The host sets the vibe:
- Everyone but the fastest 🍺🍺 — messier, the whole table drinks except the quickest.
- Slowest only 🍺 — tamer, just the last thumb drinks.
- Hard mode — don't just tap anywhere; hit the target that pops up, or it's a miss.
Surprise rounds (3+ players)
Now and then a round isn't a normal tap — stay alert.
🥔 Hot Potato
You get a warning, then the potato lands on someone. Holding it? Tap to fling it to a random player. Don't tap when it isn't yours — tapping out of turn means you drink. When the countdown hits zero, whoever's holding it takes a forfeit drink (you decide the penalty).
🫵 Most Likely To
A prompt appears and everyone points at the player who fits best. Most votes drinks. A tie goes by the drink rule — everyone, or nobody.
End of the night
The host can End game any time to see the round-of-the-night superlatives — biggest lush, fastest thumb, longest streak — then start a fresh session.
